About You:
Still here in Gloucester-where my heart is-love the damn place. Believe it or not guys-still high spirited-getting into trouble as usual. I recently lost the love of my life, Dick, to cancer-and am trying to deal with the huge hole in my soul-but-after loving the guy since I was 7, it isn't easy. The reunion this summer was wonderful-It was wonderful seeing so many of you. Each and every one of you are so very special it made me very happy to see you all again. We were so very lucky to have experienced the 40's and 50's-the end of the big band era and the beginning of rock n roll, to go out the door and be free as a bird with no text messaging, portable phones,or beepers,-boy that was great. We could cruise all night and pay the piper later. What wonderful memories-PJ parties, renting a cottage at long beach for a week or two--and just having fun. Fun---do you realize that word is almost extinct. Take care-Please write or call anytime-remembering with fondness-Jayne--- By the way-for you who wonder why I have a ''y" in my name -When I was 30 mind you, I went to city hall to get my birth certificate to go ovr the Canadian border--and lo and behold-there it was--in all of its glory-Martha Jayne Steele-I ran home and called my mom and asked her why she never told me of the real spelling--She remarked blithly--"Oh, it was a fad then, I just let it drop" OhHHHH I said-Mom-do you have any idea how you could have changed my whole aura in high school if I had had that lousy y in my name? As Sidney Kowalski (Marlon Brando) in The Waterfront said-"I coulda been a contenda" Now you know the rest of the story--(smilng just a bit)
