The high school robotics team kicked-off its journey to a February competition that could send it to an international robotics meet in Georgia later this year.

At the school's Science Wing Tuesday afternoon, about 15 eager students thanked supporters as they prepared for a robotics competition sponsored by NASA to be held in Boston in mid-February.   Read more »

Steve Kaity says he'll have some big shoes to fill next year.

As the first vice president of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, Kaity's excited to work with this year's chamber president, Ruth Pino. Lynn Munroe has taught students how to solve math problems for the last several years.

Munroe, 46, said numbers and computations have not changed drastically since she and other parents learned the basics.

How to solve those problems, however, has changed.

Tonight, Munroe is taking a lead role in showing parents how they can better help their children tackle those math problems at home.   Read more »

MARBLEHEAD - Add another conference championship banner to the Benjamin A. Smith Fieldhouse rafters for the Gloucester boys indoor track team.

The Fishermen claimed their 12th Northeastern Conference championship in the last 14 years last night with victories over Salem (73-8) and Marblehead (56-25).   Read more »

Paul Frontiero, a Gloucester High School graduate of 1950, has found a new career after retirement.

After high school, he earned an engineering degree from Brown University and a MBA from Duke University, followed by a long career in product development at IBM in New York and North Carolina.   Read more »

Gloucester High alumnus Jonathan Loyte did not have a reception in Boston College's 25-24 victory over Navy in the Meineke Car Care Bowl, Dec. 30. Loyte, a junior tight end, finished the season with six receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns. BC finished 10-3.   Read more »
