GLOUCESTER — Joan D. (Silva) Goodrich, 76, died Sunday, April 6, 2008 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital, following an extended illness. She was the wife of Harold A. "Goody" Goodrich.
Born in Gloucester on Dec. 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Dorothy H. (Jones) Silva. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School.
Joan was employed at the former O'Donnell-Usen Seafood Kitchen for 35 years.
She loved baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed going to the beach.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by an aunt, Frances N. Silva, two sisters-in-law, Eleanor P. Silva and Marjorie and her husband, Charlie Bishop, a brother-in-law, Clarence B. and his wife, Lois Goodrich, all of Gloucester, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a great-great-niece and her dear friends, Sally and Raymond LaBombard and their children, Joan, Ray and Harold LaBombard. She was also predeceased by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul J. Silva and Manuel C. and Clair Silva, her maternal grandparents, Percy and Irene (Chase) Jones, paternal grandparents, Manuel N. and Maria A. (Machado) Silva, two uncles, Everett N. and his wife, Phillis Silva and Manuel N. and his wife, Augusta Silva.
