John E. Saulnier

BEVERLY — John E. "Moose" Saulnier, 68, died Tuesday, July 30, 2008 at Beverly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Hentschel) Saulnier, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born in Ipswich on March 5, 1940, he was the son of the late John Saulnier Sr. and the late Anna (Baker) (Saulnier) Jones. He was raised and educated in Essex and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. He had been a Beverly resident for many years.

John was employed as a lead man in mechanical fabrication at Gloucester Engineering. He had also worked as a chef at the former Misty Acres and also at Woodman's Catering in Essex. For 16 years, he served on the Essex Fire Dept. and was a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist.

John was an avid sports fan and loved to travel.

A loving father and grandfather, in addition to his wife John leaves two children, Lisa Wilczek and her husband Eric of Beverly and Michael and Kathy Russo of Boxford; two grandchildren, Amanda Russo and Daniel Wilczek; a sister, Sharon Equi and her husband Tom, four brothers, Richard and his wife Donna, Charles and his wife Ginny, Frank Jones, and Junior Jones.
