GLOUCESTER — Jon W. Dahlmer Sr., 66, of 34 Millett St., died unexpectedly Sunday morning, April 27, 2008 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital. He was the husband of Debra M. (DeCaro) Dahlmer.
Born in Gloucester on March 4, 1942, he was the son of the late John S. Dahlmer and Thelma (Sofford) Dahlmer Hawes. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of the Gloucester High School.
Jon was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. He then served a period of time in the U.S. Air Force as Airman Third Class.
Jon had been employed for 17 years at Fishery Products and then for five years at Gorton's of Gloucester. He was also a former member of the Capt. Lester S. Wass Post 3, American Legion.
In addition to his wife of 19 years, he is survived by a son, Jon W. Dahlmer Jr., U.S.A.F. of Nevada; a daughter, Lisa Dahlmer-White, wife of Jack White; nine grandchildren, Hannah, Zachary.and Molly White, Andrew, Aaron, Justin, Cameron and Ashley Dahlmer, and Taylor Parker; a sister, Joanne Haight; three half-brothers, Larry, Jack, and Ed Dahlmer; his mother-in-law, Eleanor DeCaro and brother-in-law, Wayne, husband of Ruth DeCaro, all of Gloucester; and many nieces and nephews.
