ROCKPORT — Kenneth R. Dagle, 79, husband of Patricia A. (Selig) Dagle, of Rockport, died on Friday morning, June 12, 2009 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Born in Gloucester on April 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Spenser A. Dagle Sr. and Alice (Rice) Dagle. Mr. Dagle was a graduate of Gloucester High School. He had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Dagle had worked as a Foreman for the Telephone Company for many years until his retirement. He also worked as a lobsterman aboard his boat the "Mandarin" out of Rockport.
In his spare time, Mr. Dagle loved to golf and was a longtime member of the Rockport Golf Club. He was also a member of the Gloucester Lodge of Elks and the Edward Peterson Post 98 Rockport American Legion.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his daughter Kendra Dagle of Rockport; his son Kevin Dagle of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; brother E. Preston Dagle of Groveland; sister Dorothy Buckley and husband William of Gloucester; sisters-in-law Madeline Dagle of Gloucester, Jane Klotz of Rockport; close friend Rich Adams of Rockport; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Marjorie C. Joslin, and his brother Spenser A. Dagle Jr.
