Lester C. Hilton

GLOUCESTER — Lester C. Hilton, 90, husband of Eleanor F. (Bradley) Hilton, of Gloucester, died suddenly on Aug. 6, 2008 at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Gloucester on May 8, 1918, son of the late Herbert and Dolly (Conrad) Hilton. Lester was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1936, and also attended Suffolk University. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945 after serving as a Medical Technician in the Western Pacific Campaign, and the Asiatic and Pacific Theaters earning the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Ribbon.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by a special nephew, John Zellenka and wife Maureen; two special nieces, Jane Noble and Lisa Zellenka; a great-nephew, Eric Noble and wife Jennifer; a great-niece, Margo Barry; great-great nieces, Brittany, Alexis, Jessica Barry, Isabella Noble, and a great-great-nephew, Gabriel Noble; two brothers-in-law, Walter Bradley and wife Mabel, William Bradley and wife Frances; also, many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Gladys Anderson and Pauline Saunders, and recently predeceased by his sister-in-law, Rita Zellenka, who had died on August 5th.
