PORTLAND, Maine — Pamela P. Dennis, 48, of Portland and Harpswell, Maine, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at her home in Portland.
Born in Gloucester on March 5, 1960, she was the daughter of Marie (Passanisi) Murray and Lloyd A. Dennis Jr. Pam graduated from Gloucester High School in 1978. She received her Bachelor's Degree from North Adams State College and her Master's Degree from the University of New England, Biddeford, Maine.
Pam had a great love of the ocean and loved to take her family and friends out on her boat. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and they would look forward to their yearly ski trips at Christmas time. Pam was a devoted volunteer to the many charities that were privileged to have her. She had a great love of all animals, especially her labs Ellie and Corkie. Pam touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all you knew and loved her.
She is survived by her lifelong partner of 28 years, Diane E. Sammer; her mother, Marie G. Murray and her husband Daniel; her father, Lloyd A. Dennis Jr. and his wife Linda of Florida; her grandmothers, Pauline Passanisi and Helene Dennis, both of Gloucester; her sister, Diane Parisi and her husband Joseph of Gloucester; her brother, David Dennis of Pompano Beach, Fla., Karen Sammer wife of Ray Malley of Ringoes, N.J., Stephen and Eileen Sammer of Glendale, Ariz., Debbie and Alan Sigman of Manasquan, N.J. and Joanne Sammer of Brielle, N.J. She was also survived by her nieces and nephews, Joseph and Jessica Parisi of Gloucester, Patty Moody and Beth Sammer of Manasquan, N.J., Amber and Catie Soto of Ringoes, N.J., Ryan and Zach Sammer of Glendale, Ariz.; and her great-nephew, Jack Boyce. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph Passanisi, Lloyd Dennis, and Palmeda Dennis.
