Raymond F. Symonds III

GLOUCESTER — Raymond Francis "Skip" Symonds III, 70, of Gloucester, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Ipswich on March 3, 1938, son of the late Mary Evelyn (Doucette) Symonds and Raymond F. Symonds Jr. Skip was a graduate of the Rufus Choate School, Class of 1952, and Gloucester High School, Class of 1956, and had served in the United States Army.

He had worked as a lobsterman out of Gloucester for many years, and later worked at the Gloucester Seafood Auction. His favorite interest were fishing and trapping.

Skip will be deeply missed by many people because he always would lend a hand to others even if he didn't have much himself. A true testament to what a good human being should be.

He is survived by his brother Charles Symonds and wife Valerie of Essex; sister-in-law Carla Symonds of Essex, special friend JoAnn Johnson of Gloucester; former wife Lucinda Symonds of Gloucester, and her two children that he thought so much of, Dawn-Marie Sheehan of Sanford, Maine, and Rochelle Bocelli of Nashua, N.H., and their children, Bobbie Sheehan, Jason Valerio, Shara and Brittney Murphy; special nieces and nephews, Christine Corrao and her children, Nicole and Kyle of Gloucester, Kenneth Symonds and wife Christine and their children, Hannah and Mathew of Princeton, Mass., Michael Symonds and wife Irene of Gloucester, Jennifer Holloran and husband John and their children, Marissa and Julia of North Andover, John Symonds and wife Susan and their children, Ma Eve, Duncan and Gerhard of Essex, Mandi Symonds of Beverly, Aimee Servideo and husband Lucas, and their daughter Arrianna of Peabody, Norri Zakharchuk and husband Shasha of Phoenix, Raymond Symonds of Brookline and Justin Symonds of Beverly. Skip was predeceased by his brother John Symonds.
