In 1941, creative Cape Ann assigned an 8-year-old native son, Ronald Gilson, the task of recording Gloucester waterfront and fishing industry history from the late 1930s to the early 1970s. Docksiders Stage Band Concert and Benefit Auction

The Docksiders Stage Band, a 28 member group composed of GHS students in grades 9-12 performed for a sold out audience at the Gloucester House April 27. The performance under the direction of GHS Music Teacher Dave Adams was also a benefit event with an auction to support the Docksiders" trip to Walt Disney World in 2008.   Read more »

The High School JROTC Rifle Team continues to accumulate awards.

Rifle team members Melissa Strangman, Kevin Geisel, Selina Clancy, Mike Thoma, Chris Lane and Kurt Wheeler recently participated in the Metropolitan League Individual Match.

Two of the competitors came back with medals; Strangman took a gold medal, while Thoma took a silver.   Read more »

Kudos to the Gloucester Robotics Team, which finished 14th overall during the recent For Inspiration and Recognition of Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition held at Boston University.

The Gloucester team was one of 50 teams competing for a spot to compete in the national tournament.   Read more »
