John D. Hendrickson, 93, husband of the late Annie K. (Walsh) Hendrickson, of Gloucester, passed away at his residence on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007.

John was born in Gloucester, April 21, 1914, the son of the late John and Mary (Hill) Hendrickson.

He graduated from Gloucester High School and later entered into the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

John was the Gloucester High School hockey coach between 1948 and 1956, and an avid local sports fan, as well as being the golf pro at the Rowley Country Club, and a member of the Rockport Golf Club.

In 1984 he received his Associate's Degree in Arts from North Shore Community College and in 1993, at the age of 81, earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, which he was very proud of.

He is survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
